In 1987, the Hensall District Co-op celebrated its 50th year in
business. The strength of the Hensall Co-op is in its 4500 members, who
realize the importance of local control of a high-volume agri-business.
In today's business climate, when more and more of our economy is
centred in urban areas, the importance of some economic control in
rural communities becomes even more significant.
1984 1985 - Lumber warehouse in Zurich
- Additional anhydrous equipment
Leased Ontario Bean Growers Co-ops at London, Rannock, Seaforth and Atwood for one year
- Completion of asphalting in Hensall
- 24-hour, computer-operated, auto self-serve fuel service
1986 - Leased property from Frank Kling Limited 1-1 /4 miles north of Seaforth and built grain receiving elevator
- Tractor-trailer unit
- Propane tanks and equipment
- Leased W.G. Hayter facilities in Varna for one year
1987 - New store and office addition in Hensall
Paul Ducharme resigned as operations manager
