HDC's entry into the dry bean business started as a vision in July of 1967 when the co-operative membership at the time, overwhelmingly voted in favour of establishing a grain and bean elevator business.
In 1993, HDC did a complete rebuild of the existing processing facility and in 1994 made the decision to expand the number of dry bean classes handled. Today we have expanded to twelve market classes of dry beans and originate production from both Canada and US.
HDC has committed personnel who are innovative, knowledgeable, pro-active and maintain a high level of expertise in all areas of production, processing and marketing.
Our food producers are among the best in the world and our staff works very closely with these food producers throughout the growing season, to monitor our contracted production.
We operate a single location world class facility, with the highest level of technology available. Dry bean quality, food safety and traceability are key components in our program.
