Liquid fuels in Canada are governed and regulated by TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority). To adhere to these standards, HDC has various codes and regulations that they must continually update and ahere to on an ongoing basis. HDC’s energy division managers are members of or sit on the Board of Directors of numerous energy related associations promoting refined products and collectively influencing legislation and regulators.

HDC energy staff, including our part-time staff at our retail outlets, receive rigid training in the handling of liquid fuels by certified trainers. HDC’s truck fleet is overseen by our fleet manager that governs all safety and MTO requirements to ensure our professional drivers and delivery units operate in a safe and efficient manner. We have a corporate Health and Safety committee to ensure the safety of all employees. HDC’s energy division is represented on this committee to ensure our department’s issues and concerns are voiced.
