Introducing...

Brad Chandler

HDC Chief Executive Officer

I would like to have an opportunity to introduce myself to all our members, investors and customers who I have not had an opportunity to meet yet.

An introduction of my background, would offer the foundation that my entire working career has been spent in the Ontario agricultural community; from my upbringing on a farm near Dresden, summer jobs on local farms and grain elevators combined with many operations, sales and management roles experienced within agricultural business. These placements have led me to my role today as the new CEO of HDC.

During my career of 28 years, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to continue to learn, be supported and mentored on the operations and management of major agricultural businesses by highly respected and experienced individuals. Combining knowledge that I have learned with the benefits of learning from many peers, family and friends I have gained a vast understanding of the agricultural business. Over the past six years I have proudly applied the knowledge I have gained as part of the HDC Team as the Commercial Business Manager. It has been a happy, challenging and rewarding time for me professionally and personally along with my family.

My family currently resides in Exeter where we are involved in our community as I know many of our members and customers are also involved in your own communities. My wife Kim and I are the proud parents of four children, Kassandra, Lindsay, Owen and Abbie, and one granddaughter Kinsley.

HDC has grown considerably over the last 80 years and especially in the last 10 years; adding facilities and staff across Ontario and Manitoba. The growth and success of HDC comes directly from our members and customers supporting and investing in our co-operative business. This investment support has allowed HDC to purchase strategic locations and equipment to improve services to our members and customers. HDC's Board of Directors, working with all employees, goal is to ensure you, our members and customers, are valued, appreciated and provided with value-added, quality products and services. This overlying goal is that HDC will be working hard every year to earn your business.

HDC’s continued growth and success will be based on core business pillars of people, planning, processes and performance combined with the foundation of hard work and respect for all employees, our members and valued customers as we progress into the future. My many life and work experiences have led me to my new current role of CEO which allows me to work with an engaged Board of Directors and Executive Team combined with a committed workforce within a successful diversified agricultural co-operative. My pledge progressing forward is to motivate and lead a team while instilling desire, innovation, motivation, commitment and vision to ensure the continued success of HDC.

I am very thankful and humbled for the support I have received during the early stages of the transition into my new position. I have spoken to many member investors and I encourage you all to reach out to myself, our Board of Directors or Executive Team, if you have any questions. Our goal is to continue to build a strong, diversified and successful co-operative that our member investors are comfortable investing in today and into the future.  I appreciate the continued efforts of the entire HDC Team and I am looking forward to working together into the future with HDC members, customers and all stakeholders for the tradition of continued success here at HDC.

Sincerely,

Brad Chandler
